Send Me Flowers

It's a glorious Summer's day here in the UK - long overdue I can tell you and if the weather forecast is to be believed, it should continue through the best part of next week! Before I head out and enjoy some of the late afternoon sun, I thought I'd bring you some glorious inspiration from Lynn's gallery from artists using some of the new products at The Lilypad this week!

To start, the Splash Boys Transfers is a super collection of action silhouettes combined with splatters, twirls and brushes.

Then we've got the pretty Antipodes Flowers, so pretty and for me, quite the opposite end of the scale from the Splash Boy Transfers!

I have to admit that my first thought on both new products above was OK, how interesting it would be to bring these together on a layout. And I was stumped. But... check how ArmyGrl created RunRunLostBoy, this striking page below using one of the Splash Boy Transfers AND some of the Antipodes Flowers! The shadow work here is superb and I love that it's a photoless page yet packs such a punch with the quote from Peter Pan. A fabulous page!

ArmyGrl's page sent me on a mission to bring you more examples of how seemingly 'opposite end' products can come together to create a masterpiece and here's some more I found for you.

Iowan adorned her Hot Summer page with some of the Antipodes Flowers and with the water shots, the page has a beautiful tropical feel.

On her page below, apottinger used two of the Splash Boys Transfers as a beautifully blended back drop for her story and masterfully incorporated some of the Antipodes Flowers too in an understated way, both products not detracting from her photo which remains the focus of her page. I am constantly in awe of those who can do boy pages with flowers and make it work!

apottinger also made use of Lynn's new template set this week, Everyday Story. Another very versatile set for use as they are or for your own customisation.

I also wanted to bring you an example of where the Antipodes Flowers are simply the cherry on the top and found this page by Karen B. Coordinating beautifully with her photo, the Antipodes Flowers are the perfect finishing touch to her neat and classic layout.

This is what I love about this hobby of ours, that no matter the product, there are endless ways to use them to give a completely different look. If you click on the links on the pages above you will also see other products that the artists used in their creation. I hope you're inspired to check out Lynn's new products this week and create some art! Till next time, take care and happy scrapping!
