It's BYOC ("Build your own Collection") time again at The Lilypad. I love the palette that we [the Pad designers] were given to work with.
It's always so inspiring. It also never fails to take me in a direction that is surprising. I never quite know where I am going to end up when I start playing with those colors and the ideas start flowing.
Lately I have been thinking a lot about honesty and how important it is, and I ended up building this month's designs around that concept.
First up I have a whole new kit in the Design Story line ....
PLUS there is a new collection in true BYOC bold and messy style!
I am still working my way through Daughter-Two's 'age five' album and had these photos from a very cold (and somewhat miserable) trip down to the capital. Her Dad was working during the week there at the time and wanted us to come down and hang out with him during the school break ... but he ended up spending most of the week up in Auckland (where we lived at the time) at meetings!
It was the middle of winter and I grabbed some photos of her by his apartment and at Parliament in between the rain....
Those dull and grey photos were depressing me so I made them work with the bold papers and elements by upping the brightness and contrast and adding a yellow color overlay.
We went down to the waterfront and the big sand pit (with buried dinosaurs!) at the museum, but the poor thing had a head cold so we didn't last long!
I cropped the pics and a slight tan color overlay brightened them up, then I scrapped them with the "If I'm Honest" kit:
