Versatility is the Name of the Game

Good day all, I hope you're all well on this April morning and enjoying the weekend. Wait. Did I say April morning? Yes, I did and I'm aware that it may not be morning where you are but I've got April Morning on the brain because it's the name of Lynn's mini kit that's new to the store at The Lilypad this weekend and you can check it out here! At first glance, there's a lot of pink. But look closer and you'll see that this little treasure is actually more versatile than you think!

I'll prove my point in a moment but first let's take a look at some of the pretty pinks in action. Agnieszka (Arte Banale) has showcased the pretty patterned paper beautifully here on her So Sweet page with the bold blocks and check those flourishes in the backdrop. If I'm not mistaken, they're cut out from another sheet of paper in the kit! I love the soft layering here and the zig zag strips do a grand job at leading the eye to the photo. A gorgeous page!

Well isn't this little furry friends a sweet one indeed?! All the elements that wvsandy has used for Sweet One is included in the mini kit. I like the use of the mask to provide a foundation for the photo and all that white space? Perfect!

Now remember I mentioned that this mini kit is much more versatile than it initially looks? Here's my point. Check Sharon's Wow! page below. On commenting on her page, Sharon said that she quite simply ignored the pink bits! And just look at the result - a smashing boy page! Sharon's an absolute master at neat layering and I remain in awe of those who can place a flower or two on a boy page!

Sharon also used a favourite of mine, Added Interest Brushes.

Also new to the store this week are Lynn's Messy Pockets No. 3. A bit of a breakaway from the traditional Project Life templates, this duo adds a little bit more spice to pocket scrapping with the little silver fasteners and a mask or two here and there. And of course, they can also be rotated to give a different look. More versatility!

Stefanie has teamed up one of the templates with the April Morning Mini Kit and created this gorgeous masterpiece also entitled So Sweet. Picking up the pink and blue from the adorable photo's, Stefanie has incorporated both the blues and pinks in the mini kit and finished her page off with a dash of soft lemon trimmings. Such a lovely layout!

Making use of the other template, Diane's (dvhoward) Easter Egg Candy layout shows off the pinks beautifully and also highlights the blues with the eye catching flower, complimented by the blues of the label, butterfly and button. I love how Diane used the scalloped banner here and, with the flower cluster, has added depth to the page. A terrific example of a single photo page using a pocket template!

Journal cards are a great way to add punch to a page . I personally like to use them either in pocket templates, as mats or stacks behind a photo or two, or to balance a page. Lynn's Declutter Journal Cards No. 1 are also perfect for making a statement. I love the graphics and the fact that both sizes of each design is included. There's that versatility again!

Lorry (lorryfach) has teamed up some of these journal cards with a template from Messy Pockets No. 3 to document these lovely school portrait photo's for her Super Student page. Look at that smile, it's so delightful! I like the monochromatic look of this page with just the dash of red on the journal card at the bottom. I've no doubt that this page will be a favourite to look back on in the years to come!

So there's a snapshot of some of the amazing goodies that are new to the store at The Lilypad this weekend. I hope you feel inspired to put a product or two in your cart for documenting some of your stories and when you're done, I'd love to see them in The Lilypad gallery! In the meantime, take care, have a super weekend and of course, happy scrapping!
