Pop it in your pockets

I love making photobooks of travel or event photos, and one of the most satisfying ways to do it is to make ‘messy pocket’ pages - pages with spots for photos and journal cards or patterned paper, broken up with messy stitching, torn paper and some paint and blended style photo spots.

There are lots of them in the “Hear My Voice” collections (I used one above) as well as various “Messy Pockets” in my store.

There is a new set in this week’s release at The Lilypad.

I used them to scrap some pages about our recent travels …

The beauty of them, for me, is that it is a quick and easy creative process, yet you end up with pages which work together as one cohesive whole, rather than just a set of photos on a page.

‘Merry Old Soul’ collection

On the first Friday of the month all the designers at The Lilypad are given a palette to work with to create elements, kits and collections that all work together, enabling you to ‘Build Your Own Collection’.

This month I have the new “Merry Old Soul” collection

The whole collection includes the digital backgrounds (‘papers’) plus fun elements, journal cards and mixed media elements (paints).

I am experimenting with different ways to offer the collections in order to meet more peoples’ creative needs.

While cards are lots of fun, I know some people may prefer a kit without them but which bundles up the mixed media along with the papers and elements - so that is the so-called ‘packed kit’ that you will see in store.

But you can also buy the cards and mixed media transfers on their own OR a kit option (just the papers and elements) OR a ‘packed kit’ option (the paper, elements and mixed media)
