Bee Curious About Background Papers

As I was looking over the BYOC (Build Your Own Collection) layouts from Lynn's Creative Team, I became focused on the background papers used. Lynn has a beautiful set of papers available in her Bee Curious Papers kit. This kit, as well as the Elements and Transfers, are ON SALE this week-end for at least 20% off. There is an opportunity to save even more with The Lilypad's Buy More Save More option.

Let's take a look at how Lynn's CT used the papers to make amazing layouts.

Lorryfach and myself were drawn to a solid paper that has some folded texture. I used it so the paint and journaling would stand out. Lorry used it pretty much the same, so Lynn's transfers and a wide strip of patterned paper would give some texture and zing to the page. The photos on both layouts really pop against the creamy, neutral background color. KarenB used a white background paper for some fabulous white space, literally. I love how the darkness in the photos make them jump off the page.

dvhoward - "Too Many Stuffies?"

lorryfach - "I've Been Thinking of You"

KarenB - "Curiosity"

The next three layouts used Lynn's patterned paper with the small bees in dots. Rosemarythyme used the paper in large sections under each photo. They reinforce the symmetry of the page design. Chigirl used the paper with a border mask to frame her page. Apottinger used a piece of the paper in the corner to balance the large bee stamp and the amazing bee photo. The paper seems made for her photo!

Rosemarythyme - "USS Albacore"

chigirl - "Be Curious"

apottinger - "Fun Begins"

Lastly we will look at two patterned papers used as backgrounds. Because the prints are pretty small they work almost like neutrals. I love how Eyeore's dark paper sets off the elements, paint and photos. Gwtwred used a light-colored, fairly busy patterned paper so she kept the elements to a minimum and used a more solid paper at the side to ground the cute photo of her "little troublemaker:.

Eyeore - "I've Been Thinking"

gwtwred - "Curiosity"

Papers are such an important design elements for page layouts for sure! I hope these layouts have inspired you to grab Lynn's BYOC kits for your own pages. Here is another look at the elements and transfers that are available along with the papers at The Lilypad. All layouts are linked to Lynn's gallery for more details and previews are linked to her shop. Happy Scrapping!
