This photo was among the slides my Dad took when arriving in San Francisco fresh from the North of England. I hadn't noticed it till now, but when you look closely you can see a young hippy couple beaming as walk down the street past conservatively dressed shoppers. And there's a Woolworths! I used to shop there for Daughter-One when we lived in England and remember being so surprised when they shut down, such an institution.

And this is MANY years later - Daughter-Two braving the Mall of America :-) I used the new goodies in store this weekend:
