When I was a child my mother subscribed to the English "Look at Learn" magazine for me, and I would pour over it. Often they would have features about interesting and unusual places around the world and I found those especially fascinated.
Growing up in remote and quiet New Zealand (where we moved to when I was little) you felt you could never be quite sure the rest of the world existed outside of the pages of books or on TV.
One month the article was about the Haw Par Vi
It's BYOC ("Build your own Collection") time again at The Lilypad, and I have been wearing out my mouse hand having fun designing lots of new goodies.
Check out what's new in store ...... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I have a whole new kit in the Design Story line .... (and I love how Anita used it plus new templates for the fun page at the top of the newsletter) And there was no other title possible for this photo taken after The Husband got an imp
And with this layout of a long weekend in Christchurch (before it was devastated in the 2011 earthquake) I declare Daughter-Two's "Age Four" album completed (and in the process of being printed at Shutterfly).
Woohoo! Like nearly every page in the photobook, this last layout was created with one of my templates.
In this case, the new Pocket templates in store at The Lilypad: (By Mimisgirl)
I am nearly up to date with last year too (Still recovering from the craziness of
Do you have lots of photos to scrap?
Looking for "photos first" pocket pages with a difference?
I have another set of "Messy Pockets: Noted" new in store (and on sale) at The Lilypad: And it is also your chance to pick up the new bundle of both sets at a rather silly price! There are so many different page options with this second set of templates, including one for a BIG photo (ideal for the hero photos of the day, perhaps facing another pocket page with lots of pics) an
It is such a busy time of the year! Although it's not autumn here in New Zealand not much else is different ...
It is the spring break for Daughter-Two. I took a work break and took her out for lunch on Monday but she was in a decidedly teenagerish mood and not inclined to smile for the photos ....
Fortunately I have more than enough photos on the hard drive to keep me in scrapping fodder for years to come!
Time certainly does fly.
And, amazingly, it is "Build your ow
If you have lots of photos to scrap from a trip or event, then this week's new template album can help you scrap the lot in a snap. I love that for a while my mother was so enthusiastic about what they now call "enrichment" - taking us to ballet and tap dancing and gym classes. It was only for a few years, then it slipped down the priority list. But it was long enough for me still to be able to embarrass my girls with renditions of "On The Good Ship Lollipop". At the time I didn't thank her (in fact, probably asked her to stop taking me!), as I was no Shirley Temple, with my knobbly knees, hacked fringe a
If you have lots of photos to scrap and are looking for an eye-catching way to present them, this week's "Modular' template album will allow you to build a book in a hurry. You can mix and match the spreads to make scores of different double page spreads, and there's plenty of room for journaling as well.
This is our trip to visit friends in Vanuatu in French Polynesia, only a short flight from New Zealand but a world away ... And here is some fabulous inspiration from the
Yes, I've been messing with ink again, and the results are at The Lilypad today: Plus, I've started scrapping the photobook of our recent adventures, and created a new template pack to make it with: Both are new in store and at a reduced intro price for this weekend.
I used the templates to scrap our local Christmas parade: And here's just the start of what's going to be a very thick photobook! ~ Lynn #pocketpages #pockettemplates #digitalscrapbookingtemplates #photoshopbru
Hi Everyone! It's the first Saturday of the month and that means it is BYOC week-end at The Lilypad. Lynn has three wonderful kits in the collection. I hope you've been shopping. The kits are on sale for 20% off all week-end with an opportunity to save even more with the "buy more, save more" program. You will find that Lynn's kits coordinate seamlessly with all the other designers' kits. Here is a look at her contribution. As you can see one of the kits is the Here & No
Because there is still lots to be thankful here, here's the Hester Kit :-)
(You can also get the elements as a separate pack) Plus a new template set (that I used to scrap the layout at the top of the post) There's lots of fabulous inspiration from the Pollys and the team over at the Pad, here's just a few :-) ~ Lynn Save #digitalscrapbookingtemplates #templates
Hard to believe it is so long since we went on this weekend away up the coast. We stayed at a rented holiday cottage - known here in New Zealand as a 'bach'. (Funnily enough, no-one really knows why. One theory is that it is that people used to liken going away to the rough and ready beachside cottage to living like a bachelor. But that's just one theory!)
This one was as shabby as they come, but it had the most comfortable bed (a godsend since I was hit by a migraine on th
